i'll definitely agree with you that the stock turbos will spool faster than the bigger ones, but the question is how much faster? it may be just 2-300 rpm difference... especially if you extrude hone/polish the housings, use ball bearing turbos, etc. i think that the greater horsepower potential of the bigger turbos is worth that 2-300rpm difference. so, for me at least, i'm willing to sacrifice the small lag difference. but, i guess that's just a decision everyone has to make on their own. : Stay with stock turbos and get 555cc injectors. Why?? Because you can get up to 19 psi and not worry about detonation. Smaller stock turbos spool faster the bigger ones do. When you couple stock turbos with gutted pre-cats, test pipes, boost controller, and aluminum flywheel, you will have near zero lag. They come on right now. I don't have the injectors, but hope to soon. I run 15 psi boost now.
